My bedroom makeover plans, pt. one

For a long time I couldn´t find my style when it comes to my personal space and filling it with pieces of furniture and decorations I love. From the start, I knew I´ve always loved pictures, paintings, photos and frames of different shapes and sizes hanging on the wall. I also knew I coudln´t live without fairy lights. Fairy lights are life, if you didn´t know. Also, I have always loved natural materials like raw wood, cotton and bright colours. Also, rugs.... rugs make the space more cose and homey.

My sister is getting married next week and she is moving house with her soon-to-be husband so there is lots of space to work with. Don´t get me wrong, I am not happy that she is going to live somewhere else, what what can you do, when the two are head over heels with each other. So the makeover is something like a coping therapy for me to live alone after two years of living with her after my return from Germany.

How would I describe my personal taste? Princess – Fairy – Boho – Oldfashioned – mess ...After a long time spent on pinterest, this is the closest picture to what I am into:

So as you can see, I am worrking pretty much with an IKEA catalogue picture. I love the look of natural materals and I already own many of the pieces, like the floor mirror, blankets, pillowa, the bedside table and the mess.. the lovely mess which I am perfect at.
I am planning to buy the Gjöra bed next week and I will use the high front of the bed to my benefit; as a tool to devide the space into bedroom and a lounging area.
However, I am not going to work with so much white. I got gifted a ginormous can of a silver wall colour, so I am going to use it to create an accent wall. The opposite wall is going to be covered with a white brick-textured wallpaper, where I am planning to create a gallery wall from all my favourite posters, paintings and framed pictures. To break the white and the grey, I want to purchase the most beautiful armchair I´ve ever seen, an emerald green armchair from Ikea. Here´s the pic I snapped last week:

I have this gorgeous floor lamp which I am going to put next to the armchair to create the most beautiful reading area for the bookworm I am.

So these are my plans so far, I am in love with all the ideas. There´s going to be an update next week as soon as I get hold of the bed.

Until next time,
See you, Lenka :)
