Skincare that doesn´t break your bank.

I am a firm believer of the idea that makeup is there to cover anything we don´t want others to see, however, why cover something if we can work some skincare magic so there´s nothing to cover?
I got this idea from one of my favourite French women Violette_fr and once I jumped on the skincare wagon, there was no turning back.

Saying this, I do love me some lotions, serums or toners... However, I don´t really opt for all those steps and extensive routines that I see some of the other women do, nor do I buy all the overpriced product that are presented to me on social media. Not that I don´t treat myself to something special from time to time... But I took time and found out what really works for me and let me tell you, majority of the products are from my local drugstore and I swear by them! And, ladies and gentlemen, I am going to introduce them to you right this second:

CLEANSING:
Of course, when preparing for the bed time you have to start with wiping away what´s left on your face. For this I use cotton pads and the Garnier Pure MicellarWater. My next step is to use the LVLY Cleansing oil. It works well with all skin types. I cleanse my face thoroughly.
In the morning I tend to use the Coop&Daisy Fresh Glow Jelly Cleanser. Because my skin is porcelain.white, I suffer from discoloration so the fact that it contains Aloe Vera and it´ s calming, it takes care of all my red spots. After all these steps, I spray my face with rose water that I cook myself. It smells heavenly.

MOISTURISING:
I start with two pumps of the intensive Hyaluron Serum by Saloos Natur Cosmetics for the maximum hydratation. Then I add one pump of the Mixa Soothing Moisturizer. I love this one because it´s oil-free and doesn´t leave the much-hated slippery residue. Next step is an organic lavender lip balm which, in my head, smells like a summer in Provence.

ADDITIONAL CARE AND PAMPERING:
It´s necessary to exfoliate your skin on a regular basis. I usually do it once a week with a pump the Ziaja Manuka Tree Purifying cleansing gel on my Kajal sponge. With a gentle force and circular motions, your skin will feel fresh and renewed.
A little purifying pore cleansing never killed anyone. On evenings when my skin feels dull and oily, I skip my moisturiser and treat my skin with the Nip+FabGlycolic Fix. It´s an overnight gel that contains glycolid acid and salicylic acids to help gently lift the dead skin cells from your face which not only cleans your pores but also helps to control the natural oils. When you wake up in the morning and wash your face with a gentle cleansing gel, you´ll feel little particles under your fingers. Don´t get weirded out, it´s the actual dead skin coming off of your face. Am I strange if I love the feeling?

I love to use masks for that extra pampering feeling. Probably the only French element in my skincare routine is the green French clay from Saloos Nature Cosmetics. You have to mix it with water and slap it on your face and leave it there until it dries. Just be careful, because it´s a powerful little beast. If left for too long, it can leave your skin irritated and red. Plus, don´t even try to move your face muscles when the mask is drying because it literally hurts.
Another mask I love to use is the Avon Planet Spa mud mask with Dead Sea minerals. It has purifying properties and deep-cleanses your pores, which also minimizes their visibility. It´s worth giving a try, trust me.

So yes.. this is it. I know it might look like it´s a lot, but it really is worth it. It doesn´t take too much time and it really works. I was used to covering my whole face with foundation every single day because I didn´t want to show all the visible imperfections on my face. I don´t say my skin is perfect now, but it has definitely improved so now I only use a little touch of concealer where it´s needed and leave the rest of my face bare and breathing. Let me know about your skincare routine and what works for you.
