Spring fashion favourites

Since it has been for only a brief period of time, you probably didn´t even notice, but... SPRING has finally popped in! The sudden change from #thebeastfromtheeast to quite a decent weather from one day to another took me by surprise. But at the same time, it brought so much energy to my sleepy winter mode, that I didn´t hesitate (even for a second) and started digging out my spring attire. OK, who am I lying to, I didn´t dig anything out... I started shopping for my new spring attire. However, this time I avoided those „come-and-go“ trends that stay with us for a season (trends that I have a full wardrobe of) and opted for more timeless and simpler pieces.

So let me introduce you to my most favourite (and most recent) pieces that I, as I´ve noticed, can´t leave my house without.

The first one is a simple plain T-shirt. Well, sometimes, since it´s still me, it contains a little minimalist picture on the front with either a funny picture or a quote that currently fits my situation and mood. The one you can see in my little collage is from www.reserved.com. I love their T-shirts because they are a bit oversized, look effortless, are quite affordable yet of a great quality. Sometimes I like to roll-up the sleeves to make it look even more effortless and a bit tomboyish. Why not? It kinda suits my style. And personality...

I am a real simplicist when it comes to jewellery. Which, of course, doesn´t mean I don´t like a little something something here and there. However, when I really grow to love something, it stays in place until it falls off. That is the case of the little pendant you can see in the pic. In fact, this one is special for me because I bought it back in Edinburgh and it´s inspired by my favourite book (and TV-show) series ever. It´s by a brand called Hamilton and Young. Apart from other beautiful pieces, they make Outlander inspired pieces and let me tell you, they are the best at it!

Number three is what I consider to be the most classic piece I´ve ever owned. I am a basic b*tch and I don´t really wear heels. Like ever... Since my joints and bones resemble those of a pensist, I like to stay as comfortable as possible. When I wear Reebok Classics, I feel like I am walking on tiny little fluffy clouds. As I said once, thank you baby Jesus for these comfy white sneakers.

Mom jeans! Oh, yes, talk about being comfortable. And talk about that high waist! Since I am a curvy girl, I like to hide the parts I am not proud of under something that looks good yet doesn´t make me look like I am a walking sausage.  Mom jeans, in my honest opinion, are a key piece for every (not only curvy) girl. You don´t want to wear skinny jeans all the time, right? Plus, everything looks good paired with them, tucked in or not. The ones in the picture are from H &M and I love them!

Leather jacket is a must in my opinion. You can either dress it up or dress it down, it goes with almost everything. The best option is to opt for a piece of a neutral tone; you can ´t ef-up anything with a simple black leather jacket. Now don´t yell at me, you enviroment-friendly people, you can still get a fake leather jacket in every other shop on the high street. The one in my collage is from a brand called Acne and looks bomb!

Sunnies are another essential when the sun starts to show up in spring. I drive myself to work every morning and sometines the morning sun can get so strong I can´t see the front of my car. And... I love sunglasses in every weather; sometimes you need to feel incognito. My current favourites are from QUAYAustralia, type „High Emotion“. The might be sold out but take a closer look at their other models, I bet you´ll find your favourites.

Last but not least, the bag. I am a teacher and a messy person so the bigger the bag, the better. And since I am a simplicist, I like monochrome-coloured bags. This one from Desigual is a bit unusual for me when it comes to its bright blue colour, but I still love it. I must confess, I didn´t buy this one. I simply stole it from my sister. OOPS

So these beautiful pieces are my current favourites. I am looking through the windown right now and the sun has just decided to hide behind the clouds. The temperature has dropped a bit in last few days again but I hope that the winter weather won´t last long because I am determined to leave my parka hidden in the wardrobe and enjoy the spring time.

Until next time,
Čauko, Lenka :)
