My summer lipstick collection

Summer equals colours, right?

Since I am not much of a colour-wearer when it comes to clothes, I like to exhibit my love for colours on my lips. I still love neutral colours that leave the impression of wearing no makeup at all, but sometimes, having a bit of “something something” on your little pout makes the difference. Sometimes I go even as far as wearing nothing but a neon-pink lipstick and huge sunglasses; having a pastel-pink hair is already enough of a statement, right? 


The little list of my favourite summer lipsticks shows you that you don´t need luxurious brands to get beautiful results. And since I am a bit of a make-up hoarder, I like a good-quality drugstore options to ease the pressure on my wallet a little bit more.

Primark PS…lipstick in 04 CORAL
This is the proof of my previous sentence. An ultra-pigmented lipstick that costs you as much as a slice of Margherita. One swipe leaves you with an opaque colour. The formula is not drying, it´s nice and creamy. If you are on the matte bandwagon, this one is not for you. If you don´t mind a bit of shine and you have the possibility of shopping at your local Primark, don´t even hesitate.

Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipstick in BANG-BANG
If there ever was a neon red shade, this is it! Definitely don´t overdo it on the eyes because this one is intense, with the ability to blind your companions.  Super matte formula, but drying but try a lip balm before applying.

Astor Soft Sensation Lipcolor Butter in 025 Cheeky Girl
If you don´t want to spend almost 30 Euro on Smashbox, I would say that this one is almost the exact same shade.  Talk about the perfect dupe, right?

For those less brave moments
Astor Soft Sensation Lipcolor Butter in 027 Elegant Nude
The name doesn´t lie, it really feels like putting butter o your lips. Don´t expect your typical light nude that almost erases your lips from your face. This one is more of a taupe shade; you can´t really tell if it´s pink, purple or brown. I would say a little bit of everything.

Another nude, another taupe. But this time a wee bit lighter, with a little bit of creamy shine that can never hurt anyone.. Sometimes I feel like it´s changing a colour on my lips after wearing it for a while. But that might be just the Ph of my lips.
Everyone knows that Rimmel lipsticks are the Porsche among drugstore lip products and this one only proves it.

Bubble-gum Pink

This chubby pencil screams summer goals! A bright pink lipstick for a nice sunny day. Pair it with a classic cat-eye look or try it bolder with an electric blue eyeliner in your lower waterline. Mmmm.. makes me want to open my makeup bag and let my fantasy loose.

Do you like to rock that bronzed summer look with gold jewellery and beach waves? This one is for you. It doesn´t really have a particular colour other than a subtle golden shimmer. You can use it on its own or as a nice lipstick topper. Sometimes when I´m feeling myself and trying to achieve that glow-y look, I put it on my cheekbones instead of a powder highlighter. YAAASS!

A few weeks ago, I talked about how drawing, painting or just doodling mindlessly is a great psycho hygiene for me. It helps me calm down my thoughts and shut down my brain for a while, just like meditation would. It started with a printing paper and markers from my local supermarket. Skincare that doesn´t break your bank.

  I am a firm believer of the idea that makeup is there to cover anything we don´t want others to see, however, why cover something if we can work some skincare magic so there´s nothing to cover? I got this idea from one of my favourite French women Violette_fr and once I jumped on the skincare wagon, there was no turning back. Saying this, I do love me some lotions, serums or toners... However, I don´t really opt for all those steps and extensive routines that I see some of the other women do, nor do I buy all the overpriced product that are presented to me on social media. Happy New Year everyone! The time has come to sum up everything that happened (and didn´t happen) during the past 365 days.  Time runs wild, everything changes from one day to another and we are here to witness it all. So let me tell you about my 365 days of 2017.  Actually, I had the roughest start to the year. The holidays went past faster than I anticipated and it was time to return to school. Don´t get me wrong, I loved my school; well, apart from the one professor that was determined to turn my life into a living hell. Oh, yes, I get it, it all sounds exactly like the sentence a lazy student would say. But that´s not my case. Well not since I started my Masters.
